They are magnificent films shot on 70mm. I haven&#8217;t seen any other movies quite like them. Cosmopolitan is in the same vein. I had wanted to do something like this for quite some time, but was unhappy with the quality of my camera and put it to rest until a later date. I then acquired a Canon GL-2 and decided it was time to shoot the project. I wanted it to be mainly localized to my personal surroundings, thus facilitating the microcosm idea (this also made the project that much easier.) I would say 97% of this was shot in Mississippi. I strayed only slightly for a few shots that I needed &#8211; nonetheless, very localized. It took about 3 weeks to shoot and I was editing as I went along, which helped with ideas. The editing process was very fluid and it started giving me confidence in going out for shots. I highly recommend doing a project like this if you are wanting to get some time to yourself and be a little more introspective than usual. It&#8217;s a great avant-garde getaway.
