I'm not sure how many of you have seen some japanese anime but I just desided to start up a thread about it.

Good anime: Trigun, Gungrave, Naruto, Which Hunter Robin, The slayers.

Anime moives: APPLESEED, Steamboy, Akira.

Downright weird: Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi, Boogiepop Phantom, Betterman, and Saga Excel O_O.

I'm not a big fan of Anime. I do watch a little bit at times on the Adult Swim line up though.

Rurouni Kenshin a.k.a. Samurai X is entertaining albeit completely off-base

I don't really like mecha that much but for some reason I always liked the original MSG.

Inuyasha was entertaining when I was about 14 and I found the sexual tension between inuyasha and kagome riveting, now it's not that great.

Saint Seya used to be my favourite when I was a kid back in Portugal. I was recentely able to buy all the episodes on DVD, even though I haven't watched them all, only the original series.

Here in Macau Iwas able to watch Japanese versions of Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z before they became really famous in the west.

I also liked a few movies and other series. Movies like Patlabor and series like Evangelion I'd watch again because when I saw them it was versions without subtitles.

Akira and Ghost in the Shelll were pretty cool as well.

Right now I live in the Macau S.A.R. in China. I came here in 1994 with my mom because she got a job here.

Back then it was still under Portuguese administration. It's close to Hong Kong and it's pretty much the same as Hong Kong in terms of colonial history except for the fact that the Portuguese were here for 450 years (Hong Kong was actually founded because the Brits couldn't take control of Macau).

Right now I'm a student in the University where my mom works and where I've lived in ever since I got here.

That's interesting, Outbound. What's the language barrier like? Do you speak Chinese or are there English speaking inhabitants over there?

I'm ashamed to say that I never really learned Cantonese. Recently I've tried a bit but not too hard.

The official languages here are Cantonese and Portuguese (for the next 50 years at least) but there really aren't that many portuguese speakers (even though a third of the population has a Portuguese passport).

The Uni where I study at is basically an English language University. There are only a few courses taught in Cantonese and Portuguese, mainly the Law Major because those are the only official languages.

I get by mostly on English, the occasional Portuguese and the little Cantonese I know.

Casshern had potential visually, but I HATED it. I was disappointed.
