V.I.Productions - new site and videos

Postby 333imacman » March 27th, 2005, 2:26 am

Hey everybody. I don't post here very often, but I was wondering if you would take the time to check out my site and videos. Just to get some creative criticism on web design and video editing. For videos, focus on the Inspiration Point Winter Weekend if you would. The others are not so professional. Thanks for the time.

ok, i watched all the shorts, and you remind me of me only you have ideas and a website. they are great man, i loved Wheat, its actualy a very original nice movie, you show basics of direction style in "Crouching Dung, Hidden Noodle" using cuts well, good job. inspiration point, im sure is more fun to watch if you were there, but its still ok

I found your short films entertaining and creative. Wheat and the revenge of the wheat are pretty good. I would concider editing them togther into one short.

I noticed you have many more long shots than you have medium or closeup shots. To break up long stationary shots you might want to film some closeups. Example: In Crouching Dung, when the guy gets the glass of water you could do a closeup of just the glass filling up and edit it in for a cutaway.

That was just an example of small things that could keep some shots from being too long.

I'm no videographer (but I play one on TV) but these are things I have read about (I subscribe to Videomaker magazine) which may liven up a project.

My 2 cents. I did enjoy watching them.
Whatever you do, don't read this!

Stop reading this!

STOP!!
That's it, I'm not writing another thing!

wow... I kinda forget to put the site in there. Thanks Rigby. Anyway, Wheat and Revenge of the wheat were the same short, but I broke em up for web. Also, wheat/revenge of the wheat/ and crouching dung... were our very first attempts at filmmaking. Relatively unplanned, as in, no script or storyboard or anything. Thus, the laborious long shots. The I-Point vid was a little more broken up and planned (to an extent). Thanks for the time guys, I appreciate it. One day, I hope to have shorts like Mr. Bulluck, but until then, I'll just take credit for his stuff like that one guy previous. Cheers.

Mr. Bulluck, are you angrified at me or something? What did I do to deserve this complete lack of postage on your behalf? I thought your life's purpose was to read and respond to my post.

Sorry, I've been VERY busy and this thread seems to've eluded me. I'll try and get back to you.

Sorry, it's no big deal. I just wanted to see what you thought of the stuff I have done. See if any of it was promising.

The Wheat series seemed a little long and pointless, but I understand it was more of an exercise in edited and finishing something, correct? I say keep going. I have tons of horrible videos that will never see the day of light because it was me getting used to the camera and back then it was very hard to get video edited on a computer for consumers. Keep going. Sorry for taking so long, but I've been swamped.
