Sooner than you think. :]
We are still working out some deets though. There's a lot more back office work to all this than you'd think - if you want to attempt to do it decently that is. This first batch isn't really to sell. It's to get some out, test run the process, and make final adjustments.

My opinion - FWIW
Overall, superb for the budget it was shot with. Lots of people working extremely hard to put out a quality film. The acting was great. Thought Corey really stole the show. He is great.

Ok, I finally got an e-mail with a link -- maybe it would be helpful to include a notice on the Thank You page saying that a link will be sent by e-mail and that it might a few minutes to arrive.
Then again, the 27 minute delay could have something to do with my e-mail forwarding... or maybe it is a lag with e-junkie -- not sure.
Thank you for the movie and sorry for the false alarm.

Yo dude-- congrats on completing your film, and trying to get it out there.
However, I wanted to mention that although I saved the DVD in my queue, I think your website looks awful, and could use a redesign. There's text and stuff everywhere, it's really distracting and unsettling at first glance. I understand you're trying to sell your DVD, but instead of turning users off (it did for me), I think you should simplify simplify simplify the design, and make users want to stay a while. Just my thoughts. Sorry if I'm a little blunt :/

The iranagainstus.com site was redesigned not too long ago. I like the new design personally, but I have been playing with text on the background of screenings and awards. Is that what you're referring to?

I think you should try simplifying it like this:
http://img541.imageshack.us/img541/7305 ... ockup2.jpg
Take the screening info, put it on another page. Merge all video, photos, whatever, into a Media page, and have a separate page dedicated to buying it (and put merch on the buy page too). Put the awards elsewhere, like at the top of some other page like Screenings, Buy, and News or whatever.
When users land on a site, the first page they see, IMO, they shouldn't be bombarded by info. It should be simple yet informative. An introduction to the "product."
You've got the trailer and the synopsis. Bam. Ok, I know what I'm dealing with, a film. OOo! The trailer is interesting! This film is interesting! *scroll down* Hmm...interesting synopsis...*looks for more info because of two interesting things on first page ...scrolls to top of page, clicks on other links*
That's just how I think about it.
This ad: http://media.nowpublic.net/images//52/3 ... 08088c.jpg is pretty damn simple, yet it gets the point across. It's got all the elements: The product shot, a catchphrase/or logline in your case, the name of the actual product, and the logo of the people selling it (with their slogan). Bam, everything you need to know. I know it's not the same thing, a friggin iced coffee and a film, but the less people have to do, when they don't want to do anything in the first place, the better off you are.
From my experience, it's best to simplify stuff as much as possible. But do what you like, that's just my 2 cents.

I wish Sequential Pictures was as widely recognized as a McDonald's logo, I do. That would make things easier.
Saying you're being a "little" blunt is actually being less blunt about your bluntness. But, I get what you're saying.
I like some of the ideas - especially the mock up. Good suggestions. Fresh eyes are always nice. I wanted to do something similar to what you have there for the trailer once we had all our viewing avenues set up. I was going to wait until we have Netflix finished though. I like the title at the top too.
Thanks.

Re: I Ran Against Us
We won JamFest Indie Film Festival 2010 Platinum Feature award last week and it will be playing in the Santa Fe Independent Film Fest this month in New Mexico for those of you in the area. We still need people to save the movie to their Netflix queue, so if you know anybody with an account we'd appreciate you asking them to add it. Thanks.

Re: I Ran Against Us
Watched it a little while ago now, but I thought I'd get around the posting.
I really enjoyed it, more than I thought I would (don't know why that is). I don't usually watch many indie films or anything so I was surprised at how good the quality was, everything from the script to the camera work to the editing, once again I am not sure why I was surprised given the amount of stuff I've seen from you over the years.
Anyway, great work mate, looking forward to seeing more stuff from you!

Awesome. Thanks. Yeah, you usually have to lower your expectations when you watch independent titles because there are obviously elements that couldn't be afforded. Thanks for taking the time, son!
