XBOX 360

I liked Lost Planet, but it wasn't that great. The fact it had mechs and transformers in it was great, but the whole thermal energy system in the game got tiring.

As for upcoming 360 titles, these are the ones I am looking forward to:

Halo 3 (god, I can't wait for this game)

Blue Dragon (Looks like such an awesome RPG)

Grand Theft Auto IV (GTA...need more be said?)

Mass Effect (Made by the people who made Jade Empire...should be awesome)

Two Worlds (Suppose to be similar to Oblivion...which makes it awesome)

Stanglehold (A game by John Woo staring Chow Yun Fat...need I say more?)

Turok (They completely redid the series, and my god the graphics on it are stunning. Active open wounds on all creatures is awesome)

All-Pro Football 2K8 (The 2K Sports games are usually better then the EA Games. They dominate the Madden games.)

I think that's about it for games being released for the 360 in 2007.

I just wonder what Rockstar will do to make up for the fact they cannot have code in the game (thanks microsoft achievement point system) since the crazy codes in those game make the games that much funner.

And damn nt, how the hell did you manage to beat Gears of War on Insane? I'm having enough problems going through it on Hardcore.

Damn, I'm trying to do it solo. But, it sucks playing co-op Gears of War on a 19 inch television.

I really needs to hurry up and buy that 42 inch LCD flat screen t.v. I had my eye on.

First let me start by saying, I really enjoy the work you guys are doing and hope you keep it up.

Now for the real discussion, Xbox 360. I've recently died and went to geek heaven. There is nothing better then sitting my fat ass on a loveseat recliner playing Gears on a 32" flat screen that hangs over my fireplace. There is nothing like it, of course unless you have a 42" or something even more disgusting.

Gentlemen, for 500 bucks at your local circuit city, you can pick up one an Olevia ( which I thought was going to be crap, but was pleasantly proven wrong). Very nice.

Add a wireless keyboard and a VGA or DVI to HDMI cable and you can operate you PC from it as well. Much better to edit movies from.

As for games, I have to agree with you previous statements. Gear is phenomenal. I am also looking forward to HALO 3, which will be out in September. I tend to lean towards first person shooters. But will really play anything.

I also enjoy Call of Duty. It is always nice to go home after a crappy day at work and go snipping. Cheaper than paying a shrink.

My only problem with the online playing thing, which is alot of fun, is when I get schooled by a bunch of snot-nosed 10 and 11 year olds. Not even two minutes in and they crank off a head shot. Lil' bastards.

Not that this contributed anything greater to the conversation, but I thought it was a good place to start.

You should give Raiden III for the PS2 a try.

Very intense side scrolling shooter.

There's a demo out for it...seems like a fun game, but so not worth 60 dollars...

I don't want to be a negative nancy, but the only one of those games I think I'm going to be interested in when it comes out would be HALO 3.

But thats just me. I hear bioshock is interesting.

I've always got an opinion on the games I look at - unfortunately ;).
I was very eager to test out Blue Dragon. I used to play RPGs a bit and enjoyed them. Of course I was MUCH younger and had more time for those types of things. But, as I get older I look for things to relax with and I have come back to video games because I don't have to leave the house and deal with people. Whole other issue. ;]

I was let down a bit with Blue Dragon. Now, the game may be great, but I was more excited by the trailer and how it looked than by the demo. I don't know if the convulted battles and such turned me off after all these years away from the genre, but there was something boring about it to me now. I'm not saying I wouldn't give it another chance, but I doubt I go through that game.

I will tell you that I defintely will be going through Eternal Sonata. The mechnics are very well balanced, and it's an interesting approach to the genre. I simply love the graphics, too. Looks and feels solid. Reminds me a little of one of my favorite games, Secret of Mana. I solved FF2 and FF3 on SNES, but didn't care for the new FFs, by the way.

Anyway, I did play the demo for Stranglehold and I have to say that I was unimpressed with the textures and lighting - especially since they were using the Unreal Engine [Gears of War]. I am a fan of Woo's earlier films. I kept playing and found it fun to dive and fire. That really was done well. I didn't like how Fat's character would slide strangely over any little thing. I understand the mechanic, but needs some tweaking I feel. I also really liked the focus shot element where it follows the bullet. That was enjoyable, too. I'd probably rent it, go through it quickly, and be done with it.

Wow, I had time to type all this...

I want to play Eternal Sonata, but its on 360 waaaahhhh. I don't have one of those. Guess I will have to buy a PS2 since its cheaper.
Plus we need to buy the new HP game and its not out on gamecube or orig. xbox.

We have Secret of Mana, I've played it a little. But my favorite is Legend of Mana on PS, oh and Chrono Cross.

I am really looking forward to Bioshock. From what I've seen, the gameplay is very similar to my second favorite game of all time, System Shock 2. I know these are the same people who did that game.
Whatever you do, don't read this!

Stop reading this!

STOP!!
That's it, I'm not writing another thing!

I was unimpressed by the BioShock demo. I LOVED the concept of this massive underwater city that no one knows about, however, I felt the gameplay and mechanics of a game were a direct Half Life 2 rip off. In fact, I've gone around and told people that BioShock is basically a underwater version of Half Life 2. The game seems okay, but I don't think it's anything close to great.

I really enjoyed the Stranglehold demo, but the two things I did not like was the sliding over random objects as well. I understand the mechanic but you should be able to at least dive over them and take cover, or something. I also thought the voice-over acting was really terrible. They should have done the game in Mandarin with english subtitles...

Eternal Sonata does have that classic RPG feel that games have been lacking since the PSX days. See, I think developers for RPG's have diverted away from having these amazing storylines that games like Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI, and Phantasy Star IV had, and instead rely on these eye popping graphics to distract people from how bad the game really is. I don't know what is going on here. PSX was one of the best consoles for RPG's, and the PS2 only has a handful.

The game for 360 I am most looking forward to is Mass Effect. Have any of you seen this game yet? It was made by the same company that brought two of the best games for XBox: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and Jade Empire. The visuals in the game are stunning, and from what I could tell, the gameplay is tremendous. I can't wait for this game.

I don't have a PS3 yet, but the anticipation I have for Metal Gear Solid 4 is becoming unbearable. The gameplay demo really got me excited for this game. You're a fan of the MGS series NT, have you checked that out yet?

And I haven't decided if I'm getting COD4 yet...I might.

After playing the BioShock demo a couple times, I'll say that what the game does lack here and there does really make up for it in suspense and mood. I don't know how polished the demo was, but there were definite elements that I thought I'd never see in a game again [for example when the plane is sinking in the water at the very beginning the 2D rotating splashes look terrible. For a game that boasts so much about water effects I really was unimpressed with that element. Elsewhere in the game there are some GREAT water effects, though.]

I thought some of the textures could have been a little better, while others were fantastic. Polygon count on the "abundant" character models looks a bit scarce. I guess the processing was needed elsewhere, but it stands out. There are some great lighting effects in the game, too.

I've never played Half Life and I don't really care if they ripped it off or not. Is it fun to play? I can get past some things and I will play it. The game has a lot of things going for it. Perfect? No.

I have seen and I am interested in Mass Effect, yes.

I'm a total fan of MSG and I truly hope they port it to 360 liked rumored. I couldn't see SONY dropping the ball there, but they've done some stupid things this year seemingly.

I think the biggest problem with BioShock is the hype. A lot of people are boasting this game as the new "System Shock" or "Half Life". A game getting that much hype, and the expectation bar set so high is ultimately going to leave people disappointed.

Based off the demo, I don't it's a bad a game. There were elements I enjoyed, such as the concept and the atmosphere of the game. But it's far from a Game of the Year as people are making it out to be. I believe the game is 100% finished, and this demo reflects the finished product, since BioShock is coming out on the 22nd.

Half Life and Half Life 2 are two of the best FPS's of all time. You've really never played either? You should really look into to at least trying out Half Life 2. The Orange Box is coming out later this year...I'd seriously give the game an honest try. It's one of my personal favorite FPS's of all time.

MGS4 looks amazing. It's the sole reason I am going to purchase a PS3. I am not a fan of the PS3, and think the console in general is a failure, but MGS4 is going to make me buy one. Sad to say, Hideo Kojima came out at E3 and said MGS4 will be a PS3 exclusive title and it will not be ported to Xbox360. He said it was because of disk size issues, because somehow, he managed to almost fill up an entire blu-ray disk for MGS4...I don't know how that is possible, but Kojima did it.

BioShock was a game that I was looking at before I bought a 360 last year. I'm still excited about the game, but I don't think it'll be my favorite this year. I don't listen to hype or I'd be excited about that silly Halo 3 thing.

The demo is probably final, but I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt that maybe it was truncated a little to fit into a smaller download - I doubt it, though.

Never played Half Life, but I'm buying the Orange Box Oct 9th.
