I got an e-mail from xbox coz of xbox live thingo, any way it is promoting halo 3 and gives a link to a website that shows a new 60 second clip for it. The clip is great, it has got me really excited and pumped for its release. Heres the link:

Yeah, kinda show me some actual gameplay. Anyone can render a movie. Saw this yesterday on XBL. The new game better rock because I'm unimpressed with Halo 2 and everyone is in love with the thing.

i didn't think halo 2 added that much either, pretty much just halo 1 with dual wields and a sword. But the clip for halo 3 looks great, i know it is just pre rendered but doesn't it get you hyped, tells you a bit more bout the chief and the way it ends is wicked. Action packed 60 seconds.

I liked the shield he threw down. Other than that I'll wait and see. I can't tell you how unimpressed with Halo 2 I was [mainly the graphics and jumping].

I heard somewhere (prolly here) that peter jackson has signed with microsoft to develop the story side more of a new halo series. Don't know if it is true or not, but if it is then that would be awesome.

Well FINALLY my addiction to Gears of War was quelled, but another game has taken it's place:
Lost Planet
Such a fun game. Althought the whole Termal Energy thing does get kind of annoying (since I look to explore, and the whole TE thing doesn't allow time to go exploring), it really is a great game. Plus, I'm a sucker for any game with Mech's. If a game has Mech's, it automatically is 100 times better to me. But a game that has Mech's AND transformers like Lost Planet does is an instant win.
Now I just have to patiently wait for Halo 3 to come out. Which will quiet possibly be the most awesome data disc to have ever been created.

I haven't played Gears near as much lately. I rented Lost Planet and solved it. That game had a lot of potential, but falls short in so many areas. It's a good renter. The bosses were difficult at least.

I liked the story of Lost Planet. I'm also a complete sucker for any game that has Mech's in it. You put Mech's in any game, and I'll instantly like it. (no matter how terrible it is *coughfrontmission4cough*) For example, Xenogears. One of the best RPG's to have been created. In my opinion it is the best RPG of all time simply because you could fight with Mech's in it. I remember when the demo came out packaged with Parasite Eve. Initially, I played that demo a hell of a lot more then I played Parasite Eve. (Which I did later beat.)
But what I really disliked about Lost Planet was the Thermal Energy system. Creative and innovative yes, but I really didn't think it matched the whole flow of that game. In every mission I felt extremely rushed. Like if I got lost, or didn't know what to do next, I was going to run out of Thermal Energy and die. A game like Lost Planet with the extesnive maps that it had, you want to take your time with. You want to explore, find things, and take your time. Well, at least that's how I feel.
Oh well. I'm sure once I beat Lost Planet I'll be back to either playing Gears of War, or Marvel Ultimate Alliance. More so Ultimate Alliance since we have a whole slew of comic book movies coming out this year and in 2008 (In 2007; Ghost Rider, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, 300, Spiderman 3, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and 30 Days of Night. And in 2008; Iron Man, Batman: The Dark Knight, The Punisher 2, Sin City 2, Sin City 3, Wanted, The Incredible Hulk, Wolverine, Hellboy 2: The Golden Army, The Watchmen, Ant-Man, and The Flash) So I'm in full-on comic book mode right now...and probably will be for the next year or two.

Speaking of Transformers, welcome to what will hopefully be the best movie of '07. It better not disappoint me, it better stay true to the original generation 1 story.
Anyway, back to Xbox, i hired G.O.W the other day and played it for a solid few hours in co-op with my mate, i was impressed. Very fun game.

While I will be seeing Transformers and have the same hope as you for the movie, I believe 300 will be the best movie of the year. Early reviews have me really excitied about seeing the movie.
As for Transformers, you know the trailers just haven't done it for me. The CGI created Transformers looked like washed out Eva's (Neon Genesis Evangelion) and that doesn't have me too thrilled. That and it appears Starscream did not make it into the Transformers movie. Starscream was always my personal favorite.
And back on topic, yesterday I FINALLY beat Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Such an amazing game, and if they do decide to make a sequel, they set up that story line so perfect, that I can't wait for a possible sequal. So now it's back to playing a combination of Gears of War and Lost Planet. I might by Crackdown...but meh, I'd only buy it for the Halo 3 multiplayer.

300 does look really awesome, can't wait for that either, but i am a pretty big transformers fan and have been waiting for this movie for a while. I agree the transformers don't look the same, but they had to update their appearance so as to attract new audiences, they couldn't set keep them looking the same as the originals. Starscream is in the movie, according to the people who made it the actual personalities of the characters that made the original series so good are still here, like the bickering between Starscream and Megatron.

I hate my computer, but I'm not sure whether I should get a PS3 or an Xbox 360. If I got a 360 then I would have sampled all three gaming enterprises over the four generations (I had a Sega Saturn, then a NES, then a N64, then a PS2) and to be honest I'm not that entheusiastic about the games on PS3, except perhaps Resistence: Fall of Man. Maybe I'll get an Xbox 360, then wait untill I have enough money and by a PS3 as well?

Welcome renegade, another Perth boy hey, I'm from Perth too. All i can say is you must be keen if you are going to buy both the ps3 and 360, you could buy a pretty decent computer for the cost of that. I still think that the price of the ps3 is still to high for my tastes.

Thats it outbound, get out! But seriously every one is entitled to their opinion, provided it doesn't in anyway reflect negatively on Gears of War :P
I enjoyed it, gave me some joy for the few hours that i played it.

Thanks very much dude. Fancy seeing another person from Perth on these forums. What part of Perth you from? I'm from Attadale which is down near the sandspit that juts out into the river.
