Hey NT, prolly already been answered, but how long have you been playing guitar? and for that matter what other instruments do you play and how long have you been playing them for?

I've been playing guitar since I was 15. I'm 28 now. I also dabble with drums, keys, and bass - but I don't consider myself a true player. I barely consider myself a real guitar player because I'm VERY limited. My strong point [that I'm trying to strengthen] is song writing.

Also, every software instrument in GarageBand I can play pretty well. I'm kind of awesome on every instrument apparently.

Glad you are humble enough to not boast ;)

But you really are getting very good.

Cool, i played guitar for like 2 months on and off a few years ago (which is practically nothing, i know), now i am trying to pick it up again and learn, i am teaching myself, it is hard... :'(

I also want to get into writing songs, but it is hard to write lyrics that mean something with out them sounding cheesey and lame. It is a fine craft song writing. However if you get good at it then you can make great songs with pretty simplistic skills with instruments, in my oppinion.

What do you mean when you say you are VERY limited in playing the guitar?

Short, stubby fingers. I can do much in the way of fancy, which makes me focus more on other aspects.

I can't do a lot of anything at the moment, haha. I'll bet i end up giving up again in like another month or two, i don't want to but i'll just get sick of being bad at it. I don't aspire to be a awesome guitarist that can bust out solo's and stuff, just an decent one so i can make my own songs and stuff.

You do live gigs and stuff don't you? like at the good karma cafe or what ever?

When you play are you by yourself or do you have some other peeps that play drums and stuff? Or are you all accoustic?

Mostly I'm by myself, but there've been a couple times with some accompaniment.
