Jar Jar in Academia

I'm in a language study class lecture right now. The guy is talking about Standard languages and creoles, and he's about to show us a bit of Jar Jar speaking because of the use of Jamaican creole for his speech.

Actually, the movie failed to play, but everyone was pretty shocked when they saw the picture of Jar Jar Binks in the middle of University lecture.

As similar things were said in the series Spaced. Episode 1 was ages ago and look at the Ewoks, they were shit weren't they? Everyone just has to "... calm the fuck down" (Shaun of the Dead quote, My God, I need a life.)

JarJar was very much like the typical dumb coonass that we see stereotyped in movies. I recognised his dialect immediatly, and when they showed him living in the swamps I was not surprised. He actually did a better job than Adam Sandler did in waterboy, so I will give them that. But I do get a little tired of the hollywood stereotype of southerners.. and especially cajuns.

PS: For those of you who don't know, the word "coonass" is neither considered an explitive nor has any racial undertones. It is just a slang word that refers to the french cajuns in louisiana.
