How do you spend your day?

Postby Martian » April 22nd, 2005, 3:45 am

What does the average day of NTB consist of? Several times you have said that you are very busy but you always seem to have some time to reply to posts and add some topics yourself (thanks by the way). Do you sleep late or get up early at a set time? Do you work set hours or when you feel like it? Do you sleep 3 hours a night or do you need 8? You also have a girlfriend so must spend some time (and money) with her somewhere in the day.
I dont doubt that you are very busy but was just interested in how you spend your average day.

I generally try and stay busy. Yes, I do usually have a lot to do between my freelance work and my own work, but when I get an email about forum updates I try to respond quickly. I want the forum to feel as interactive as I can muster. At this point I'm managing, but I don't think I'll be able to as much in the future.

My sleeping fluctuates a bit. At the moment I'm getting to bed anywhere between 1 and 4 AM and getting up around 11 or so. It all really depends on what's going on with my work. Months ago I was waking up early. I do a lot of work from my home, so I'm usually here, which is why I can respond so quickly to the forum. Typically my responses are short, though.

Oh yeah, almost every morning I go over to mom's house and drink coffee and have lunch. That's kind of a standard in my life at the moment. The girlfriend does take some time, but I get away with a lot because I work at home, you know? Also, she doesn't cost that much. I don't date those.

Awwwww.. It's good that you are still trying to have an active relationship with your mom.

I have a question, in that house that you lived in, in the "Inside Sequential Pictures" video, is that the house you live in? Or do you own an apartment?

I still live there. Rent is cheap and I like it for the most part.

At least your mother will make sure you eat right for one meal a day. An artistic friend of mine turned a but manic from lack of sleep and sort of lost track of reality as he got obsessive. He didn't have as close relationship with his parents as you do to keep him grounded.
It didn't end up well in the end for him.
Thanks for sharing an insight into your daily life, we will be checking the facts when your autobiography comes out. You already appear on movies, music and art (anthonys painting)so it is only a matter of time before you write a book. I cant think of an appropriate title for it at the moment.

I've had a title for awhile, "Passing On Traditions". It's ambiguous. It might not be a good title for my book and boy, what a spell checkin' nightmare that things gonna be.

The only thing I've been doing over the years is keeping a document of original quotes. I assume when I go back and read them in a few years I won't like most of them, though.

I haven't done enough with my life yet to warrant a book. I gotta work on creating a need to read the damn thing if it ever got done.

I'm not necessarily planning on writing a book, but it'd be interesting to try when I'm older perhaps. I don't consider myself to be a great writer or anything, though.

What's your book about?

I don't think of myself as a great writer either but I always wanted too ever since I saw Star Wars. I was always like "I want to do that!" Well, it was all just a dream. When the new SW movies came out in '99, it started all the creative juices flowing again and I actually sat down and wrote a couple short stories spoofing the trilogies. I posted them on the net and actually received lots of kinds words and encouragements, so I decided one day to package the stories into a novel. I'm editting it now and hope to self-publish within a year.

Are you planning on selling it? Does it use characters from the SW universe?

Thanks for the interest. :)

Yeah, I'm selling it and no I don't use any SW characters or anything owned by Lucas. It's more loosely spoofed. And no, there''s no links anymore. I removed them all. :)

What kind of book were you thinking of writing, NT?

Um, I guess philosophical/introspective. First, I'd like to try and live an interesting life. I, in no way, think my life is worth writing about in its current state. It's just something I would do to take a "break" when I was 40 or something...

Good luck to ya!

Yeah, I had a little "break" between 2001-2002. By its more precise term, its called unemployment. With that, I no longer had the excuse "I don't have time" so I just went for it. :)

When you turn 40 you can write about the 'good old days' of making movies, when movies weren't 3D, high definition was considered only 1440x1080 and high speed internet was considered 512kbps. By the time you turn 40 your mobile phone will record video at 1440x1080 and connect to the internet at 50Mbps but it will still suck because they just released a smaller model one day after you got it.

Do you spend any of your day working out on a gym or any sort of sport?

Everyone once in awhile I'll use some free weights, but not as much as I'd like. I use to be in a better loose-type routine, but I stay so busy usually...

You know the deal Barista, if you do get around to beating up hungerfan make sure to tape it so we can see. Put some music to it also, punch to the beat. Maybe NTB could use the footage in his next music video, just morph his face onto Barista.

kidding as per:)

But if it happens...

Hunger vs. Barista

Postby TheEdge » April 28th, 2005, 8:39 am

That is a bout that I would like to see. I've got odds on Hunger though. Any takers?

NT can film the event and put it on pay per view.

Don't bet on me if it is suppose to be a clean fight. I am 6'3" and 190lbs. I hit like a 3 year old and if I had to beat anyone down it would be the old school way. (i.e. potato sack over the head and a baseball bat)
