Another Star Wars Fan Film

NT, as a film maker, you will appreciate this

http://startreklinks.net/series-movies/ ... tions.html

and the rest of you check it out too... From the looks of things, namely the quality of craftsmanship of A Lost Hope and this one, it's getting to a point where anyone with a good imagination and a digital camera (NT) can crank out a quality film.

BTW, not to knock your earlier efforts NT, but I just downloaded the first Star Wars parody you did and you've come a long way baby!

Bye for Now

Yeah, the first one's an eyesore. I've seen the trailer for Revelations. The acting is weak. They do have some great fx, though.

You're right, the acting in Lost Hope was way better. I was wondering if any of your entourage has had any formal acting training? I thought your portoryal of Anakin as a wise ass spoiled brat was dead on. Also, after watching the "Inside Sequential Pictures" I'm glad to see that you guys don't take yourselves too serious. I think having a sense of humor is what makes the Lost Hope trailer more entertaining than Revelations. I can't wait to see the full film of Lost Hope ;)

Commendations

Postby Tiberius » April 20th, 2005, 8:35 pm

Indeed, the acting and additional work that went into the creation of a "LOST HOPE" was a deciding factor into its popularity and its recent media coverage. Star Wars clubs around the net, which I have the pleasure of being a part off, broadcasted this development to all of its members. Increasing the receptance of this site and the video/s. I commend all who were involved in the production and creation of this spoof, and look forward to the possible creation of an EPS III video in the near future.

Thanks for the kind words. The SW communities has been surprisingly supportive of the movie. Also, when you say "broadcasted this development" were you referring to the media coverage?

Not specifically. When I said "broadcasting this development", I mean that certain members of my club took it upon themselves, to introduced links to your website on our main news page. The presence of those links are what drew a large quantity of individuals (members) to visit your web site and gain access to your work ( myself being one of them). It has also been my pleasure to distribute links to your website to numerous individuals over the mIRC network chat channels. So indeed the reception of your work within the greater star wars community has led to a growing demand for more products baring your signature. I am glad that an entrepreneur, such as yourself, with genuine vision and talent is capable of providing such a demand. I wish you the best of luck in future productions; and will continue to distribute your website at all possible avenues of conversation.

I thought this was well done. The acting, while not great, doesn't get in the way of the story they are telling. Very beautiful and I can't knock anyone who's putting out such an effort. Outstanding, better than Lucass has done in his last two IMO.

For anyone who cares, here is a link to download the movie http://www.panicstruckpro.com/revelations/

The special effects were good, but the acting is terrible. They almost sound like they are reading cue cards. And, I didn't watch enough of it to understand the story line.

Yes, I thought that the story was clever. I liked the music in the club scene. Some of the acting was pretty wooden. The special effects were quite good, I especially liked the 'dream' scenes as they cut to them really well.

That 'Emperors hand' chick is pug fugly. NTB's (or should that be Sequential Pictures') Armidaala, even when 'preggers', is way better. Hope to see more from her.

They put the effort in and deffinitely pass the grade for Revelations.

You could have fooled me. I had to turn it off after about 5 minutes. What good are FX if acting, storyline, and everything surrounding them suck?

It almost seemed like a soap opera version of SW, with a bunch of overdramatic female whinyness.

I was surprised by how long it was, most fan films are pretty short but I thought it was ok overall.

A few things about Revelations, positive and negative:

The 'chemistry' between the main lady character and the guy character is just weird. I know they aren't supposed to like each other, but they seem to be like a fighting couple most of the time. It could just be the sub-par acting effort. And one of the characters reminded me of Obi-Wan Kenobi from A Lost Hope for some reason, minus the good acting and humor.

I think they overdid the make-up on the Emperor, it looked like his skull was trying to pop out of his flesh or something. I also was wondering if there was a big inconsistency in there about the Senators (I know, it's just a fan film), but didn't that action of finishing off the Senate happen in Episode 4?

Double light-saber battles are ok but they feel unbalanced. I felt the same way when Anakin tried that in Ep 2. I guess we'll see how it works in Ep 3 when Grievous busts out four light sabers. I'm sure the guy who played Darth Maul could make it look good, but otherwise it's probably wiser to stick with only one unless you do some really good choreography.

Interesting storyline, I wonder if they were influenced by Knights of the Old Republic at all, there were a couple of lines where they seemed to allude to that. The Seers concept is kind of cool.

It may have been my monitor, but it seemed really dark during most of the film, especially during the end light saber battles, I had no idea who was fighting who.

Great special effects for a fan effort, no doubt about that.

Agree about the Emperor's Hand lady being fugly. She probably would have made a better Storm Trooper.

Overall, OK rating. There have been worse fan films and of course they put a lot of effort into the whole thing so it wasn't entirely bad. I wonder if they plan on making more episodes beyond that.

lol nice review mate. The only reason i saw it was because everyone kept on saying that it had good CG and it does but what it does'nt have is good acting. Now if you had NTB and the other Sequential Pictures actors in there with the CG of Revelations that would be the greatest Fan film ever!
