Horde is extremely hard. I definately need someone to help me out with going through it.
Only problem is all my friends are extremely lame and got the new Call of Duty game because they all thought it would be better then GoW2...

You know, looking at games coming out this year, there really isn't that many good titles. I'll be picking up Street Fighter IV, Star Ocean: The Last Hope, Ghostbusters, and Resident Evil 5 for sure, but other then that...nothing else really interests me...

Left 4 Dead is quite good...problem is my Xbox got the red rings and I got Bob from Nasapetilon, India, who can't tell the difference between a B and a V.

Of course they pushed back Gears of War 3. Awesome. Changing my plans for the month of April now...

I know! I was very much looking forward to Gears of War 3 in April, but now we all have to wait until November. Lame.
I don't know man...I haven't really been playing too many video games as of late. I seem to only use my 360 to watch Netflix these days. I did pick up halo reach, and I must say...I was highly disappointed.
I did pick up Lords of Shadows for the PS3...love the Castlevania games and the new seems to be pretty cool so far.

Haven't played too much either. Going to find some time for some Borderlands DLC and then New Vegas, though. Can't work all the time!

Haha, I'm getting New Vegas for the PC. I haven't tried Borderlands yet, but I read they're releasing a Complete Edition of the game with all the DLC, plus a code to play the demo for Duke Nukem Forever when it's released, so I might pick it up then when that comes out.
Probably the only one, but I have been patiently waiting for Duke Nukem Forever for over 13 years...I never gave up hope it would come out!

Re: XBOX 360
Anyone try Medal of Honor yet?
I've been focused on playing New Vegas this entire week, and I must say, I found the game to be highly disappointing. It feels more like a Fallout 3 expansion pack than a stand alone game. I was expecting more...I was expecting better.
That's not to say it isn't a good game - I think it's a great game, but I also feel it doesn't expand the series at all. It feels like I'm playing Fallout 3 all over again, which isn't a bad thing, but I wanted to see new Vegas be it's own game - have its own personality, and instead it's a clone of Fallout 3.
I'm going to shift my attention probably to Raw vs. Smackdown 2011 next week. I haven't picked up a wrestling game since Raw vs. Smackdown 2007...I generally get one every 4 to 5 years or so. There's really no games left on the calendar for 2010 that interest me, with the exception of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.
I'm not a fan of the Fable series, and as interesting as Black Ops looks, I have taken a personal stance to no longer support Activision, so I won't be getting it.

Ehhh...I wanted New Vegas to have more of its own identity, instead of being a copy of Fallout 3. I do like the ammo modification though...that made things really fun.
But overall...I felt like everything I did in the game I had already done in Fallout 3...it felt too familiar, which is probably why I got really bored of it.

Re: XBOX 360
I just played through Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. Picked it up from RedBox (which now offers video games for 2 dollars a night) and I thought it was a really awesome game. Great gameplay, great story, great characters, and surprisingly, it had some of the best voice acting I have ever heard.
Problem is, the game has absolutely no replay value. Once you beat it...that's it. There's nothing more to do, so it's not worth a 59.99 investment.
Great game though.

Played the demo. Thought it was decent, but the graphics contrasty [a little harsh] and the camera a touch broken.

Yeah, the camera gets frustrating at certain points. Like, when you're fighting the Rhino mech and you have to climb up this tower...well you're running towards the tower, and then the camera spins around to face the rhino again.

Re: XBOX 360
I'm really digging the "Undead Nightmare" add-on for Red Dead Redemption. TONS of new content, and is actually quite a challenge (zombies don't fight fair, haha). Has about a 6 hour new, alternate storyline. I haven't played it online yet, but from what I read, the online content is just as good.
It's worth the 800 MS Points (or $9.99) based on the incredible amount of content they included. Plus, if you don't have the other add-ons (Liars and Cheats, Legends and Killers) there is an "Undead Nightmare Collection" pack you can get for 1600 MS Points (19.99) that will include all three (instead of paying 800 MS points or, 9.99 separately for them - I got this one). So, it's a good deal.
It just baffles me how Rockstar can include so much new, fun content for Red Dead at 800 MS points, and Activision charges 1200 MS points for a 5 map, map pack...
Probably why I'm not gonna get Black Ops.

I've only got so much time for video games, so I'll be sticking with New Vegas for a bit. I enjoy playing, so I make the time to do so, but I can't stack many time consuming games together. I liked Red Dead actually. A friend let me borrow it for a week. I enjoyed it, but didn't make time for it because I knew it would take a LONG time to finish. Great voice acting, that game!
Have you played Limbo?

I haven't actually, but I have heard good things about it. This reminds me to actually download the demo which I've been forgetting to do since a bunch of my friends suggested Limbo to me like...2 weeks ago.

Re: XBOX 360
I played through the demo of Limbo twice...and I really just couldn't get into it. I can definitely appreciate the developers trying to create a unique game (which it is) but at the same time, I didn't like it's simplicity. If a game is going to boast being a puzzler platformer, then I want the puzzles to be a challenge, and what was offered to be me in the demo was just...way too easy.
But, like I said I can definitely appreciate how unique the game is. I did like the black/white color, and I really liked the atmosphere, but I just wasn't digging the game play. It was too simple, and the puzzles were too easy.

Re: XBOX 360
I figured that. I just felt that with what was shown/offered to me in the demo that the game isn't worth the 1200 MS points because, at least in my opinion, there are other Xbox Live Arcade games that can provide me with game play that is my more style that I will enjoy more for the same, or lesser price.

I look forward to the new Mortal Kombat. It's been years since I've played a fighting game and this looks like it's shaping up well.

Re: XBOX 360
Yeah, I've been looking forward to that too. I think the 3D rendering, with 2D side scrolling really works for fighting games, much like it did for the Street Fighter IV games, so I expect the same magic with the new Mortal Kombat. That's not to say the PS2 Mortal Kombat games weren't fun (they were really fun) but, this throwback to what Mortal Kombat used to be/feel like is something I'm really looking forward to.
I'm playing through Mafia II right now (on the last chapter - picked it up from Redbox) and while I'm really enjoying the story and the characters (typical mobster characters, but I love mafia/gangster stories) I feel that the game play is really lacking. It feels like there just...isn't anything to do in its open sandbox. I heavily criticized GTA IV for being an overall poor game, but one of its few strengths were that there was a ton of things to do in that game, where as Mafia II, which imitates the same style of game play, has a sprawling, open world with absolutely nothing to do. I'm just going through the story...there's no side quests, nothing really to explore - it's a big let down to me.
The game really lacks depth. I feel they could have done a lot more with Mafia II to make it a much better game, because it certainly has a lot of potential.
I borrowed Medal of Honor from a friend, so I'll be playing that next. I heard it sucked, but I'll give it a try.

Re: XBOX 360
Yeah, I quickly lost interest in GTA IV. I loved San Andreas though. It's the only GTA game I finished.
I like the new Street Fighter game too. I'd own it if it were uber cheap, but I just may be buying MK fresh. It was sorta my jam. I sucked at it, but I loved it.
Mafia II looks good, but I hear ya.
Black Ops actually looks pretty damn good, but I'm not sure I got the time - especially with New Vegas vying for my attention. I'm 25 hours in and still haven't made it to New Vegas in the game. It's the opposite of Mafia II - tons 'o shit to do.

Yeah, I think I played GTA IV for like...10 hours before I got bored of it and never picked it up again. It was definitely a drastic step down from what San Andreas was.
lol...I remember your San Andreas music video.

Re: XBOX 360
Finished a couple of other games.
I borrowed Medal of Honor from a friend, so I was only able to play the Single Play (EA requires an online pass, and I'm not about to spend 800 MS points on one) and I honestly do not understand why people knock the game. I enjoyed the single player. I felt the game play was good (since it pretty much is identical to CoD) and I felt the story was good. Granted it was a little bit short (took me about 7 hours, but I was playing on hard) but...I went in expecting a horrible game, and instead I got a solid FPS...no clue why people hate it so much. Maybe because the multiplayer is terrible...but I won't have a chance to try it out for myself.
I also went through Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions. I didn't really like it too much. I don't know why, but a game with 4 different versions of Spiderman in it, I was hoping for 4 different game play mechanics, and instead, Spiderman 2099, Ultimate Spiderman, and Amazing Spiderman play exactly the same. Only Spiderman Noir provides a variety in game play (stealth base). I mean, it was sort of fun, but I felt like it was just a glorified button masher, that was not challenging in the least. The boss battles were really easy. I think the only thing I wound up enjoying was Mysterio being the main villain, since Mysterio is my favorite villain from the Spiderman comics.
I'm currently playing through Raw vs. Smackdown 2011 since I'm wrestling fan, and haven't played a wrestling game since 2007. I'm really enjoying it so far.
Still not getting Black Ops :P

Black Ops and general apathy are going to result in me bombing a class or two. Who'd have thought that year three of university was so boring?
If you like multiplayer, Black Ops is crack cocaine. If you like single player, prepare to go insane as you hear Sam "Jake Sully" Worthington pull off a convincing American accent every other line. Fun game, regardless.

Finished up Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and it's in the running for my Game of the year 2010. Game was amazing in all aspects and the addition of multiplayer added some fresh, addicting content.
I picked up Gran Turismo 5, so I'm currently playing through that.
