Just wondering...
Have we all gotten a bit older, less interested or just too damn busy? I presume it is more the latter than the former or perhaps a bit of all. Sure miss the good times!!

Re: Just wondering...
Gator, I know what you mean. Speaking for N.T., I can tell you that a recent move to a new city and some 14 hour work days on a non-SP film project have kept Our Exalted Site Administrator in the weeds over the past few weeks. But I think part of the inertia here on the forum and site also just has to do with the fact that there hasn't been much SP video activity outside of our re-dubs for a long while. "Your Shit Is Weak -- The Musical" was the last sort of traditional SP video project before N.T. and Jared's feature length "I Ran Against Us" got under way. And IRAU became all-consuming for quite a while. (In some ways, it still is!) There were also changes here and there in the lives and locations of the SP "usual suspects" that made it difficult to get everyone together and do what we'd been doing. Todd and I have been able to keep doing the re-dubs because even though they actually do take some substantial work they're still easier to schedule and produce than something that requires a full cast and crew.
Todd and Jared are actively working at all times to push SP farther -- feature length movies and documentaries. There's a lot of hard work, sometimes fruitful -- sometimes disappointingly not, that goes on behind the scenes, and that's where things are right now.
I miss the "good times" too, Gator. There have certainly been some lively and fun conversations and debates on the forum over the years. After watching Prometheus last week I thought about posting a thread for it here just to see if we could drum up a little talk (that's something else I miss -- just talking with you guys about the movies we've seen).
I'm sure we'll continue to do the re-dubs as long as we're having fun with them, but I also hope we can find time and inspiration to do another SP video short for the site sometime soon.
And I truly do want to say thanks, Gator, for sticking around and supporting us over the years. Same goes for all of you out there in SP Land who have stuck around. I hope we can always keep making something to show you guys.
Naw, but.... Prometheus?

As I wind down for the evening I have the thought to check the forum, because I've gotten out of habit. I find this thread. I respond.
EK answered it very well, as he is usually who I will call and complain to [sorry EK] about life. He's good like that.
Really in a nutshell it is that I've moved twice to new cities over the past handful of years, the movie nearly killed me [we took on too much post], ulcerative colitis nearly killed me, we had a documentary get put on permahold, I recorded an album by myself, the economy tanked, holy shit this nutshell is getting ridiculous. Sorry about all that. When I get a little down at my output decline I have to remind myself that effing LIFE happened, suck it up, and try to steer back towards what I/we love doing. Part of that steering was moving to New Orleans. Now we're trying to get settled, register Sequential Pictures as an LLC, start a new client-based company, Epigram Media, and make some money to pay for this party.
I've been doing double-time since I got here. I'm trying to clear some burners for personal projects; both Jared and I are itching to brew something up. My brain is dead at the moment because we had two 12-14 shoot days and then almost a week of nonstop editing, trimming 5 hours of footage down to 5 minutes [you try it]. Shake it off, Bullock!
And thanks, Gator.

Great to hear from you again, NT. I hope your not overdoing it with the workload, I know film shoots are such unpredictable things. Either way, it's always a pleasant surprise to stumble by your site and see a new addition. So have you been progressively transitioning towards projects that bring in more business/money for you? I have an old friend fresh out of film school and I will be curiously observing the kinds of projects he will involve himself over the years.
I was also beginning to think you got married or somethin'.
Do you have an email newsletter, or do you send your updates through your youtube/facebook accounts?
be well.

Re: Just wondering...
The past few years have been tumultuous financially for me. That being said I've had less personal funds to put into projects, and I've needed to relocate to get more work. It's going to be a much better situation here in NOLA. The past couple of months have been nonstop. It's been either work or setting up our new company and office. I've also been researching post workflows, networks for moving large amounts of data, and stepping up my color correction process. More than anyone wanted to know, I know, but all this takes an enormous amount of time to learn and figure out. I just always want to feel like I'm progressing technically, and at least that aspect is being fulfilled currently. Once we get caught up and settled we'll be in a good position to be more outwardly active.
Oh, and married? No. No, sir. Not ready for that. I've taken a hiatus from relationships for awhile - had some doozies.
The new wordpress SP site can be subscribed to I think? I usually throw a mention up on my twitter and the SP facebook page. I try nowadays to put as much of the site up on youtube as well [damn you youtube].
We'll get something going later this year I'm pretty sure. Personally, I also fight with myself on whether not to do what's been successful for me in the past or go completely in the opposite direction for my own devices. Stick around. We'll find out. :]

Re: Just wondering...
I guess for me personally I've just gotten way too busy the older I have gotten. My passion for things like writing, video editing, guitar, video games, comics, etc have taken a much disheartening backseat for things like work, relationships, and my upstart business. I've learned that as we grow up and further our lives into adulthood the things we were truly passionate about as teenagers and young adults generally have to take a back seat.
I'm really glad to see that although things are changing, everyone is doing alright for the most part. Sounds like you've been to hell and back, NT, which I guess would explain why SP.com hasn't seen too many updates over the past year or so. Glad everything is looking better for you, bro. With the amount of talent you have for film, it's just a matter of time before you "make it big", and then I'll be all like "Hey, I played Gears of War with that guy", lol.
But really, all the best man. Hope to see more of your work once life settles down for you.

Wanting to do higher quality productions sure does take a lot to set up. Thanks for the vote of confidence and, hey, we'll be playing a new GoW next year, eh? :]

Re: Just wondering...
Thanks guys for the updates. I really am happy that things are moving in the right direction for you NT and Jared. Eric, I hope you are still making sure you keep them in check. Odd, or perhaps sad, that I can still watch most of the vids and such from so long ago and still have a smile, if not a good ole belly laugh, going on. Thank you all for responding and I will make sure to check back often to see what might be next on the SP horizon. Take care my internet friends and dont let foolie ghoulie get ya! And Eric, go ahead and post about new movies, I would love to hear your take on some of the latest ones scifi especally. Thanks all PEACE

Dude, I was disappointed we didn't get to play GoW3 last year! Definitely in for GoW: Judgment when it comes out! How's Anthony doing? That guy cracked me up every time we played one of the GoW games.
