Is there any chance we're going to get a cameo from you in this film NT?? Also how are you planning to distribute the film?? Through this site?? I would certainly be interested in buying it, if you will ship it to Aus for me :D

NT, is Mr Edouard (tropical storm) affecting the filming? Looks like it will just skate by Louisiana, but it's going to make a direct hit where I live...supposedly.

I had a chance to drive down to New Orleans to lend a hand and visit the set tonight. The crew was slightly short-handed tonight so I went down and basically ended up just wrangling extension cords and doing a few trivial odds and ends while trying to stay out of the way of the people who actually knew what they were doing. When Todd brags about the crew in his production diary I believe him. Everybody was really on the ball and I was impressed with how well things came together. Jared showed me some of the footage they've been shooting the past few days, and it just looks great. And it also looks like they've found some really talented actors. I'm just really impressed with how this project is shaping up, and I can't wait to see the finished product. I raise my glass in their general direction. Cheers!

Sorry I've been so absent on the forums, but this project sucks must of my time. We're gearing up and organizing for post at the moment, but a teaser will be released soon on the site.

No, there isn't a cameo yet. I may end up with one, but it will be fleeting I assure you. ;] I wanted to focus more on directing since this was my first feature length. I learned a good deal.

Cool.

Can't wait for the teaser.

Have you got a general release date in mind for the final product? late this year, early next?

Dude, not to suck you and Jared off, so quickly...BUT, this has the feel of THE definitive late 2000s indie film. Probably, the way people felt about Clerks, in 1994.

Yay it's finally out! I've never been too sure how the premise of this story would play out. I guess I will have to wait till the release. But the trailer is great!
It really appears you found some good actors to work on this.

I saw the trailer and it looks awesome! By the way NT you didn't say how this movie is going to be distributed. I also sent you an email about subtitling and promotion here in Greece. Hope you consider it!

We'll have to cross both the distribution and Greece bridge when we get to them. ;]

Ok, due to the fact that the production value for this film is damn near epic. This looks better then a large chunk of the independant stuff floating about(and all Steven Seagal + Chevy Chase movies combined).

So basically all im wondering is if your thinking of presenting this to an Independant film festival. I vaguely remember you saying you are not too interested in the limelight but i think this is definitely worthy of praise :D

Thanks. Yes, we will most likely send this out to a few independent film festivals. It's not that I mind them, but I don't want to get caught up in it. A lot of people mention film festivals before they even have a script together - much less have shot the damn thing. We've shot ours and I STILL don't talk about it, you know?

We'll see. I just want to get this under my belt and then go from there.

Well, thats very understandable and I agree that its a dangerous slippery slope if you start buying into the whole film scene.

Just give us a heads up if and when you do apply so we can make sure to catch your debut performance :D

We shot it on an HVX200a using a Brevis35 adapter in 720p.

I have been reading your project journal about Iran against us and it seems like sooooo much work to put out a movie. You must really like to do this, because I would be ready to burn it, with everything you have said you have to do and there is some tedious things in there.
Do you work so hard because you took money from the mob to make this movie and they will break your thumbs if it doesn't pay off?
I didn't say it was your FAULT I said I was going to BLAME YOU

Yes, it's tedious but it's definitely a challenge. It's a large puzzle that is completely subjective. Normally there's a team of post people to handle different aspects, but we can't afford that. I'm definitely proud of what we've done. I just hope audiences dig it. That's what matters.

I'd rather be working hard doing this than working hard at a nine to five desk job for sure. You gotta do something with your life, right?

Hey, NT. I haven't been to this site in a couple years, so I was pleasantly surprised the other day to visit and see you're almost done making your first feature. Wow! Good luck and god speed, my man.

Hey NT, out of curiosity what is the software that you're using in that screenshot you recently posted? Is that ProTools?

I don't think I have ever seen ProTools before and was expecting it to look a lot... "fancier"!

Small World

Postby TheEdge » February 20th, 2009, 3:44 pm

Hey N.T.

Just had to come by and let you know what a small world we live in. I found an old friend of mine from grade school and his info showed him to be a fan of I Ran Against Us. Come to find out he was a cinematographer for your project. Then I had to tell him how I felt sorry for him to have to work with you...a no-talent bum and how it must suck to deal with your short-man syndrome and inflated ego...but I digress. Small world huh?
